Low-volume production (vacuum casting) provides a cost-effective middle ground for testing. Mass production (injection molding) demands high initial tooling investments but achieves the lowest unit costs. Ultimately, securing the best quote relies on choosing the right process for your product's current stage and utilizing Design for Manufacturability (DFM) to optimize materials, tolerances, and finishes.

We understand you may have questions about our 5-axis machining services. Here are answers to some common inquiries to help you get started.

To provide an accurate quote, please include your 3D CAD file (STEP, IGES), material specifications, desired quantity, required tolerances, and any specific surface finishes.

Cost is driven by machining time. Complex geometries, multiple setups, very tight tolerances, and deep pockets all increase the time and therefore the cost of manufacturing the part.

Our standard tolerance is ±0.1 mm (±0.005 inches). We can readily achieve tighter tolerances down to ±0.005 mm on critical features, which should be clearly indicated on a 2D drawing.

Yes, in many cases we can work with customer-supplied materials. Please contact our team beforehand to discuss the material type and ensure it’s compatible with our equipment and processes.

Surface roughness (Ra) measures the fine-scale texture on a part’s surface. A lower Ra value indicates a smoother finish, which can be critical for sealing surfaces, mating parts, or optical applications.

5-axis machining allows the cutting tool to approach the workpiece from five different directions in a single setup. It is ideal for highly complex parts, as it reduces setup time and improves accuracy by avoiding re-fixturing.

Yes, a free DFM analysis is a core part of our quoting process. Our engineers will review your design and suggest potential improvements to reduce cost, improve strength, and ensure successful machining.

Our MOQ is one! We are happy to produce single prototypes, but CNC machining becomes more cost-effective per part as the quantity increases due to spreading out setup and programming costs.

We operate under a robust ISO 9001 and AS9100 compliant quality system. We use CMMs, VMMs, and other calibrated tools for in-process and final inspections, and can provide full reports

Anodizing is an electrochemical process that creates a strong, corrosion-resistant oxide layer on a metal’s surface. It is primarily used for aluminum and, to a lesser extent, titanium; it cannot be performed on steel or brass.

Our standard lead time is typically 5-10 business days. This can be faster for simple parts or longer for complex parts with special finishes, but we will provide a firm delivery date with your quote.

Absolutely. We treat all customer intellectual property with the utmost care. We are happy to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before you upload any sensitive design files.

Yes, we can machine both internal and external threads. We support a wide range of standard (UNC/UNF, Metric) and custom thread specifications using tapping, thread milling, or single-point threading on a lathe.

In milling, a rotating cutting tool removes material from a stationary workpiece. In turning, the workpiece rotates at high speed while a stationary cutting tool removes material to create cylindrical shapes.
